THE FORCE AND WILL OF CREATION!

UNIVERSE AND WEAVE IN HARMONY

UNIVERSE AND WEAVE IN HARMONY

Who am I you ask?

What are my abilities you wonder.

I have not come this far  by your

direction,  or by your power.

The higher authority that breathed

life into my frame,  who

very much ordained my name

decided…and so it was!

Perception is sometimes powered by

STEROTYPE!

Misconception is sometimes powered

by dislike!

Who am I you ask….

I am the force and the will of creation…

I am the power of the volcano’s eruption

molten lava rolling and burning a path through

everything!

A tornado in all of its thoughtless,  callous chaos….twirling

in beauty and destruction without apparent destination, or goals…

intent on devastation…yet in simplistic natural beauty powered by an unseen

machine and engine.

A hurricane large and moving in speeds of one hundred mile an hour winds, ripping trees from their root beds and tossing homes and cars like children’s toys…yet again powered by an unseen mechanical engine of such power as to draw all living and dead into its path.

So who am I you ask?

Incased in this flesh I am mortal,  a woman,  an individual with thoughts,  feelings and ideas.

Yet you perceive me weak,  you know….first impressions and all….

But oh,  do not be deceived….just as you are ….I see through to your very soul….

we are both

the force and will of creation!

Just as I have and you have the ability to be creative,  so do I ….just as you have the ability to be destructive so do I.

I chose life…

what do you choose?

Within me reigns the absolute power to choose—to be the FORCE AND WILL OF CREATION!

Parents, children, teens….COMMUNICATE THROUGH ART WORK AND THE FINE ARTS….TRY IT ….YOU AND THE FAMILY JUST MIGHT LIKE IT!!!!!

nature-meets-construction-by-riveroflifelisajoy-number-two-scan.jpgNATURE MEETS CONSTRUCTION” BY RIVEROFLIFELISAJOY

I felt led to curl my lines, and then I found a ruler that called out to me.  I blended  two types of lines and found that the sharp pointed edges and the curled soft ones could coexist!–thus…”Nature Meets Construction”—

Check out JayJewels work at the Fireoflifejayjewels @wordpress.com. Jay Jewels my son is 14 years old and shares my love of the arts!

When you cannot afford the movies, and video rental but you have a piece of pen and paper….draw….

I draw for my health, and strength.  I love the arts!  Try it!  You might bring down your blood pressure, and increase positive outlook!

Get the family in on  art work too.  Grandmother, baby,  husband,  and teenagers….have a family night and get a lot of art supplies and see what you and your loved ones can create with a crayon, or paint.  Remember to use news paper on your tables.

If you are suffering from family loss,  sometimes you can express yourself better by drawing out your feelings in a picture.  Some pictures may be dark, but so what?  Let those feelings out and you will ease some of the pain.  Hey,  nothing beats a try!  You might enjoy it!

Job stress tends to shorten lives.  Paint,  hobbies,  knitting,  singing,  writing helps.

Spend time talking to your kids over a jar of crayons, construction paper and finger paints.  For the older kids get the chinese ink and water color.  You will see that alot of things get talked about during art work time in your house.  Then make dinner and see how peaceful meal time can be after a Saturday of Art work!!!!

Basketball Versus Tennis—Challenge: Take your Kids out Of that Basketball Team and Put them INTO TENNIS—YOU WILL SEE A BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!

LIFE STARTS HERE.jpg

How could I make such a challenge you ask?  I will compare Basketball to tennis in this blog,  and then you take the BasketBall or Tennis Challenge and you tell me what you come up with.  I bet you will be surprised.

Basketball  is a game that does require a certain standard to be met in order for a youth to participate in an organized team effort.  Basketball scholarships pick from the best of the best talent in that sport.  Basketball is only for the best, fastest,  or tallest with skill.  Basketball leaves out the opportunitie for mediocre people to progress in that sport.

Youth basketball is great for team effort.  But tennis reminds me of  chess.  My son Jay Jewels plays in the Youth and Tennis Academy and he explains it this way, “Tennis is a game of thinking and control. You have to think where you are gonna hit the ball.  It’s like chess….before the person makes their move you gotta know where you are going to hit it.”  My son plays at Cunningham Winter Bubble every Friday and Sunday night.  What a great activity!  When it is 10:00  I do know where my child is—he is at tennis until atleast 10p.m.    My child loves the game and is ranked 44 in 100.   He has a lot of practice to put in but he loves it.  The kids love the friendships that they build.  My child Jay  Jewels is 13 years old.  So it is important to him to feel like one of the crowd.  The tennis kids are very nice indeed.   Basketball kids are even more nice.

My son Jay Jewels answered my question of what is different in the thoughts  of basketball player he stated,  ” In basketball you have to think with the team.  You have to keep the ball moving and look for openings to throw it to your team members so you can score or dunk it.Here is an small interview with Jay Jewels my in-house “tennis pro in training.”

Q:    When did you start playing tennis?

Jay Jewels:       I dunno,  5 years ago.

Q:   Did you like tennis when you first started?

Jay Jewels:       No.   I thought it was not cool to play tennis.

Q: When did you begin to like playing Tennis?

Jay Jewels:        I started to like tennis when I began to beat people at the game.

Q:  Did you have any good experiences that stick out in your mind?

Jay Jewels:         When I beat one of the coaches  at tennis and he paid me $5.00.

Q:   Did you ever play baskeball?

Jay Jewels:          Yes.

Q:     How do you feel about basketball?

Jay Jewels:          What I think about basketball is that it is really fun to play.  I like  blocking people from making their shots.  I like crossin’  em’ up!  Its really awesome My  Dude!!!

Q:     Do you like tennis more than basketball?

Jay Jewels:       I have been with basketball for nine years.  The beginning with my love of sports came from basketball.

Q:      So what has made the change in your attitude?

Jay Jewels:     Tennis tests your ability to focus your mind on the most important goal of getting the ball past you oponent.   There is more of  a chance of getting a point  in tennis than in basketball.  It you make the person miss the ball that you volley back to them then you gain points.  But in basketball,  you have to  shoot the ball in the hoop.

Q:      Does height matter, or weight matter in both tennis or basketball.

Jay Jewels:       The weight of a player in tennis does matter, because, you know….if you can’t get to the ball in time you will miss the volley.   You oponent will get the  point.   When you are serving in tennis and you are short–you have to aim higher to get the ball over the net.

Q:     How is it for people who are tall?

Jay Jewels:     Easy!

Q:      Are people you have seen playing tennis either tall or medium in height?  Are they allowed to play no matter how tall or short they are?

Jay Jewels:      Well,  just a minute.  Getting back to basketball, for a second, on the team called Atlanta Hawks, there was  a basketball player who was five nine who dunked. (the basketball)  I can’t remember his name ….but he played very well.   Well, in basketball if you small and have no game, or handle or something like that,  there is no point of you being on the team.  But in tennis  you can basically be any height you want to be.  It just depends on how you serve that ball,  how far, and how fast!  It is more one on one competition!  And there is doubles too.

Q:      What you do plan to do with you skills in tennis Jay Jewels?

Jay Jewels:       I want a private teacher,  including  the Youth and Tennis Academy with Bill Briggs.  I also want to get sponsored to play.  I want to use my tennis playing to get scholarships for college.

Q:       How long can you last in the game if you became pro?

Jay Jewels:      Around to your thirties, and then you retire.  Afterward I would coach.

Q:       How much do coaches make?

Jay Jewels:    Some coaches make $95.00 per hour.

Q:       How could you stand to toss the ball and no longer be able to play the game like you did when you were younger….have you thought about it like that?

Jay Jewels:     You can play still.   You can still play even if you are old.  There are people that look like they are in their seventies on the courts.

Q:      Would you feel good helping and coaching someone else?

Jay Jewels:    Well, if they became someone known and famous because of  my coaching then that would be good.  And people would know that I had helped them.

END OF INTERVIEW —

Q:   Thanks Jay Jewels for your insight.  Is there anything else you would like to say regarding Tennis vs  Basketball?

Jay  Jewels:      No.

December 26,–Medical Emergency possibly due to the Video Game System! Oh, Why this Now?

LIFE STARTS HERE.jpgMy son Daniel was talking to his grandmother in her room.  I was making her something to eat.  Her room is right behind the kitchen.

She said, “Come here, Come here, ” in a too calm voice.  “Come and get him, he does not look well.”

I had that chaotic, shaky,  feeling in my gut again.  The same if not worse from last weekend when Daniel got “sick” in his sleep at 5:00 am.

Now it was only about 9pm the day after Christmas and I saw him standing and holding his head.

I rushed to his side and he grabbed hold of my arm.  I steadied him and then I could do nothing but get him to the wall where he could lean.

I tried to make him lay on my mother’s bed but he could not move his legs.

He is taller than me ….so I had to be careful that he not fall and hit his head.

My mother could see his face….she said…Ha, oh…watch out….he is going to throw up!  He threw up all over the floor in my mothers room.

He closed his eyes and lay limp on my shoulder like a wet rag….I could pick up his arms and there appeared to be no resistance or strength.  I could hear gurgling in his throat.

I held his head back and I started talking to him.  Daniel,  Daniel…do you hear Mommy?

I thought that he would start shaking or something….but then I heard the gurgling again and he threw up again.  He had just eaten a broiled chicken sandwich.

I was cooking sweet potatoes with sugar and cinnamon on the stove.  But right now I hoped it was not burning because I could not move.

My mother was asking me if I wanted to put him on the chair.  I said no….it was a wooden kitchen chair.  He needed a secure chair.

The dining room and living-room where he had set up “camp” under the Christmas Tree with all of his gifts—especially the Ninetendo WII  were in the living room.

That is what he had been doing for about 2 hours before this episode.  He had gone food shopping with me.

We had really gone out to go get his replacement Legend of Zelda Game for the WII because the one he had gotten for Christmas was defective.

That was all he could think about for the whole day of Christmas.  So for him…Christmas had really only started two hours ago once he started playing the replacement no defect Legend of Zelda game.

So what went wrong NOW???!!!!!  Why was I standing trapped here in my mother’s room…unable to get to the telephone AGAIN???!!!

and — holding my son up against the wall while he was throwing up over my shoulder?

His arms limp as two dish rags;  he was not talking…  just weak, and vomiting and spitting!

My mother,  with all of her age of 78 had worked in Creedmoor Hospital back in the 1960’s  as a attendant….was calm and just asking what she could do to help.

She can not walk…due to arthritis.  I started praying and talking to my son.  I sang a hym.

I prayed (and)  recited Psalm 23 and waited for him to come back to me and my mother.  My son Daniel spit and threw up again.

Finally I felt some life come back into his body.  Funny though,  his heart was pounding, and pounding.

It was a good strong beat!

I talked to him continously and asked him his name, and then he began to talk words…but the words did not make any sense.  He knew his name,  but  when I asked him how old he was he spelled his last name instead.

I walked him to the living room and had him to lay down.  He saw me reach for the telephone and then he began to tell me to “Wait, a–wait don’t do that—wait!

He does not want to go to the hospital…I told him I have to call for help—he got visibly upset.  He kept looking at the video game he had left on just before he became “sick.”

By the time the EMS arrived he was talking regular and making sense.

They, the EMS techs explained that the video games and even the computer have 60 shots of light every few seconds and that is why  he is getting sick.

They checked his blood pressure and other vitals.  He seemed fine. But looked over tired (they said from playing those games.)

They got clearance for him to see his doctor today and not have to go to the hospital….but with a promise from him to put away the video games and go directly to bed….eat something, drink something but go to sleep immediately!

UGH!  Lord, help my kid and help all other parents going through this nightmare.

My kid was in private school all his life.  I sacrificed my pension to nine years of private school education.

Now he is in a college board  highschool  with only 300 kids.  He loves it!

My son ranks 44 in a thousand kids from the Youth and Tennis of SoutEast Queens.  He just played tennis on Friday,  Saturday and Sunday!  If you saw him he does not look sick…He is quite athletic….

I am a poor woman…..I can barely put food on the table.

I pray that my son’s health improves.

I hope it is only the video game systems and the 60 shots of light and nothing else.

He is only 14 and has not yet lived his life.

I hope this blog gives inspiration to others out there who may be experiencing the same thing.

I am going to get in touch with a Shakley Food Supplement distributor. My mother gave them to me because of different medical problems when I was just graduating highschool and starting college.

They really helped.  I had lost track of that food supplement company….but I will actively seek them out now.

This is not an advertisement….it is my personal opinion.  I will not give my son anything UNTIL I TALK TO HIS DOCTOR.  —-PLEASE BLOGGERS….DO NOT TAKE ANY TYPE OF VITAMIN OR FOOD SUPPLEMENT UNTIL YOU CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR.  I WILL BE TALKING TO MY SON’S DOCTOR TO DAY ABOUT VITAMINS AND FOOD SUPPLIMENTS…..YOU MUST ALWAYS CONSULT, CONSULT, CONSULT AND GET SECOND AND THIRD AND FOURTH OPINIONS ABOUT YOUR MEDICAL HEALTH AND NEEDS!!!!!!

Because I know my son is a picky eater…and he does expend alot of energy to  play tennis and do school work.

He also is putting alot of energy into the video games. All though the kids appear to be couch potatoes…they are expending energy into concentration.

That is where the danger appears to lay with the 60 points of light flashing into the eyes and affecting the brain.

What to do what to do?  My kid appears to be hooked to the games.  But guess what?

The male EMS Tech guy said that he is hooked to the games too!

Lord save us ALL!!!!

Watch your child and the video games please….. !!!!!!

Take care….till next blog…..

COPING WITH HOLIDAY EXCITEMENT AND HOLIDAY BLUES! USE YOUR CREATIVITY TO GET YOU THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS!!!

LIFE STARTS HERE.jpg   Sometimes in life we find ourselves in circumstances beyond our control.  It is important to use coping mechanisms that are not harmful to ourselves and our families and our society.  I am always deep in battle with my financial problems.  But I have several HEALTHY METHODS to lower my blood pressure, and prevent myself from over eating.  So look at my work.  Think it over.  Maybe it is not so beautiful….but it is much better of an outlet for anxiety than other negative behaviors!  The Holiday season can be very stressful–what with the shopping for that hard to please loved one, to the parties, and dinners that take alot of planning,  or worse yet for those of us who have lost loved ones.  You may not have money,  you may have a different holiday this year than last….but use your creative brain and  work it out.  Find healthy  activities.  If you can not jog…then write,  or paint,  or sing.  Just get involved!  You will feel better.  Just incase you get the Holiday Blues!LIFE STARTS HERE.jpgHUNGER AND DOUBT.jpgFlower of Hunger2nd-art-work.jpgThe holidays can be fun….but shopping and spending money can be scary! Take your time and enjoy the HOLIDAYS!

Art work explained:

#1-  Life Starts Here:

This piece was using the yellow background with the swirls of dark blue,  black,  or brown to give contrast and texture.  I looked at it and felt that it appeared to look like a genome or fertilized egg in the process of the life cycle.

#2-Hunger and Doubt:

This piece was with a teal green center and dark colors surrounding it.  It represented the wait throughout the summer for my car to get out of Pep Boyz!

#3- Flower of Hunger:

This picture was drawn on an evening before my break through in August.  I was waiting for some financial issues to be adjusted.  The night before, I was concerned and going over issues that had to be addressed.

#4- 2nd ArtWork—Chinese Ink:

The concept behind this is the black ink against the background of water color and symbols of the language.

I painted about 20 pictures.  But these are just a few that I thought would be nice to have displayed.  Just to give a break between my blogs.

I love being creative!  It inspires me.  I hope you take the time to inspire yourself.

Ca’mon—push yourself away from the computer and then try a few drawings….it is really enjoyable.

A note about the fine  arts and my personal health.  I wanted to inspire those who may have serious medical conditions.  I will relate some stories in future blogs.  But right here I will tell you about a surgery I had.

It was so scarey for me!  I had been having surgery for two years straight on different problems.  The final year was the third surgery unrelated  to the others.  But it was scarey nonetheless!

I used another technique of singing to cope.  I found a variety of inspirational songs,  or gospel songs and I have a marathon of singing.  I will do a private mini-concert of positive songs. I even wrote 5 inspirational songs on my own.

Before we moved I used my Pevy Amp aInd microphone and would sing.  I only would sing during the day–so as not to disturb my neighbors.  I would feel better about my surgery!  I believed  that those fine arts activities that I did at home helped to heal my medical condition.

Atleast it made me more calm and resolute about my condition and my doctors.  I found myself  at peace inspite of my situation.  That is why I hope others will give it a try.  Look,  I am already overweight!  I also have highblood pressure.

If I have to have any type of medical procedure done that involves anesthesia  the doctors are very careful with me.  I did have knee  surgery and I had difficulty waking up.  I realized how serious  any invasive techniques can be when done with sedation.

Being calm is key.  But lowering blood pressure naturally by losing weight is the best.  I myself am still working on that.  But if you want to start,  take out some paper and begin to draw.

I bet you will find some of the answers to your inner most thoughts present in your drawings.
