Archive for Christmas Shopping!

Well,  first of all,   I love Christmas Season…the Spirit of Christmas is so exciting!

I love the tree trimmings,  the holiday parties,  the food,  the family and the fun!

But most  of all the Spirit of Christmas is about Christ.

A friend of mine stated bluntly to me yesterday…Rhonda does not celebrate Christmas.  And Rhonda is a religious person too.

Like,  what does Rhonda and her person life have to do with  me?

That  I do not get.

I have supreme joy at this time of year.  And not because of the gifts…I do not get gifts….AT ALL!

I do not have a husband or a boyfriend for 13 years I have been alone as a caregiver to my family ( my mom and son).

Rhonda is married….so What gives?

I was married once…and my  life was even more filled with Holiday cheer than now!

So what that people do not know when Jesus was born.   I am concerned with his actual death and resurrection on the Cross!

Does anybody know that actual date,  time,  hour,  and month of Jesus actual Cruxifiction?

So what is the problem here?

Christmas is the spirit of   LOVE,  HOPE,  PEACE AND JOY  FOR ALL MAN KIND!

So many homeless people,  shut-in folk would be left alone if it were not for the spirit of GIVING during Christmas.

So there I believe that those RELIGIOUS FOLK who CHOOSE  not to celebrate the HOLIDAY  of Christmas have missed the point of the celebration.

They are concerned that they will be overwhelmed with the spirit of “getting a gift”  and not  the death and resurrection of the born Christ child when he becomes thirty-three years old.

How can you though?   Really?   Those who receive gifts for love of money,  sex,  drugs,  relationships  and all the selfish motive stuff are those who  Christ came and died for.

So those of us who believe in the HOPE, OF LOVE,  OF SALVATION….should  realize that we are the ones who hold up the light of  life to the people motivated by selfishness…so that when all of their goals of selfish greed makes them  fall flat on their faces because they did not get that  GUCCI BAG,  or  Mercedes Benz,  or Diamond earrings…they will see us HUMBLE FOLK…holding up a little  heart sign of Christ Love and Salvation…saying…All who are weary come….Come to the Giver of Life….the Little Baby Jesus….who died for all SINS….OF GREED,  SELFISHNESS,  AND HATRED,  AND ALL SUCH THINGS…

I believe that they will see that Christmas more than getting and giving a bunch of expensive or inexpensive material possessions.  Christmas is the spirit of God’s Love come down to a lost,  worn,  and tired collective humankind soul and spirit.

Let us not turn into Scorge as a form of RELIGION!   Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding celebration….Can we love God more than Christ loved God the Father?   Jesus said if you have seen me you have seen the  Father.   So if Christ did not count it as sin to celebrate a wedding  of an unnamed bride and groom….Why not celebrate the birth a little Baby….who was set to take the sins of the world upon himself when he became a man?

Keep Christ in  Christmas,  and take into your heart the true  Spirit of Love,  Peace,  and Joy of the Season.

So that is what Christmas 2009  means to me.

till next blog….\

Holiday Shopping, Do you want real Bling? (January 2008) — I Purchased Nice Bling Bling for my Fourteen Year old!!! Valley Stream Green Acres Mall has great Bling to make the Holidays… Zing!!!

Sunflower.jpgMy son and I came off  of Jamaica Avenue for a while and did some shopping in our favorite other place….Green Acres Mall,  in Valley Stream.  While we were there during  the pre-Christmas count down….we found some items that my fourteen year old wanted…(you know besides Ninetendo WII and Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess with the great sound track).

We found  a blinging bling Pirates of the Caribbean belt buckle with the shiny cubic zerconia stones that still sparkle!

I told my son -no about that.  But you know me,  I went back and got it later!   The patch eyed skull with the bling bling all around the eye patch and the head, with a black real leather belt.

Not my style of clothing to wear a dead man’s skull on my clothes but that is modern teenagers of  2007.  Fearless in the face of a death mask.

It is a well made piece of  clothing ornament.  It cost with the black thick leather belt included —$25.00.  NOt too bad.

It is super gold toned…but highly polished.  YOu see my son tries to do his school work.  He has been sick and I want to see a smile on his face fro the holidays.  Last year all he received was 3 video games.  I could not afford a new fitted cap for him last year.

I was very poor and could not afford it last year.  So this year Christmas of 2007   I purchased the blinging  skull face cubic encrusted  eye patch for my son.  He was so surprised when he opened it Christmas day!

I also purchased a little dog tag that blings and has digital read out that displays over a thousand  characters. It reads my sons name out vertically.

My son also asked for that too.  I purchased these two items in the middle of the mall indoor walk way from a very kindly, gentleman of EastIndian origins.

He was very pleasant to talk to, and he did more than just sell me costume Bling stuff.   He and I talked about my son’s health and my concerns.

He did not have to do that. We talked about life,  health and our families.  That time I spent making that purchase made the holiday spirit come alive.

The salesman talked to me personally for a long time in the midst of that busy holiday Green Acres Mall.  He tried to inspire me despite my concerns about my son’s health.

I decided to buy those to bling blings and make the holidays come alive…but instead I met a salesman that truly represented the spirit of Christmas for me.  He was touched with compassion for my child and my single parent status.

It is not about buying things– but that people… humanbeings can come together and talk and fellowship on any topic….and find out that we are more alike than different.

Gotta go…some urgent pressing business at hand.

Respond and tell me your holiday shopping and blinging gift ideas if you have any!

Six Foot Christmas Tree for $10.00!!! Never go Tree-less AGain! You can’t find this in the 99 Cent Store!!!!

$10.00 Christmas Tree Bargin

$10.00 Christmas Tree Bargin

King Kullen saved my Christmass!~  Hallelujah!  I bought a 6 Foot tree for $10.00  in Valley Stream New York.  I think there is one left!  Hurry up and catch up to the drive!  I am so excited.  I am short of cash as always!  But Ifound a tree that can get me in the know of it all!

It has a detachable top.  But it stands a full six feet tall.  Oh!  by the way the tree is fake!  But who cares?  I needed a tree.  I was afraid that I would not have the money to buy my traditional LIVE tree…so I decided to pick up this tree instead!  I might still go to my favorite LIVE tree place…a little florist on Linden blvd. just over the “bridge of the CrossIsland Parkway in CambriaHeights….in Hempstead.  Go down Linden Blvd.  pass the Hess Gas Station and you will find this florist place built like a shack and with a “back yard”  I always get the best Christmas trees there!  My tree stays up for about a month!  And it lasts a long time.  We put up our tree two minutes before Christams!  So we basically keep it up for the month of January—you know the 3 Kings time period!  Plus we are just loving the look and smell of a live tree.

But I purchased this 6 foot fake tree because wanted to really bring the holiday spirit home.

Tonight I wrapped presents for the Youth and Tennis Academy children -Santa program scheduled for this morning—Saturday.  I took my son to practice and found myself enjoying the art of gift wrapping with other parents.  Great!  I think that is what got me inspired to buy that 6 foot tree.  It was 10:00 last night when I decided to run to King Kullen off  of Central Avenue in ValleyStream New York.  I am so glad I got it.  I also picked up some great tasting heat up chicken fingers,  chop meat turkey,  pop corn chicken, eggnog,  green tea,  lime tea,  diet cream soda,  and diet black cherry soda,  and some goya yellow rice.  I had a great night.

So go look for a bargin in King Kullen!  YOu never know where you might find holiday bargins!
